Our son, Kuba, was born with a rare congenital defect—a right-sided cleft lip, alveolar process, and hard palate, along with a defect in his Eustachian tube. From the very beginning, his life has been a series of challenges and medical battles, and yet, through it all, he has shown remarkable courage, resilience, and determination.
Kuba’s medical journey has been long and demanding. Despite undergoing six palate surgeries—including a bone graft from his hip to his palate—he continues to face difficulties with speech and oral function. Each procedure has been painful, exhausting, and emotionally draining, not only for him but for our entire family. These surgeries are complex and require the utmost care, expertise, and support.
Even with the incredible help and generosity we received during our previous fundraiser, Kuba still requires further procedures to address his ongoing challenges. His journey is far from over. The work of specialists in surgery, orthodontics, otolaryngology, and speech therapy is continuous, and each step forward is critical for his health and development.
Kuba’s daily life is shaped by intensive speech therapy, which he attends twice a week. For a child his age, these sessions are demanding, both physically and emotionally. Yet Kuba approaches them with remarkable bravery.
