Kacperek's Fight: A Journey of Hope, Struggle, and Unwavering Courage
Dear friends,
With heartfelt gratitude, we want to thank you for the love, generosity, and support you’ve shown Kacperek and our family. Thanks to your kindness, Kacperek has successfully undergone his surgery, and we’re overjoyed that everything went well. However, the road to recovery is far from over, and we continue to face many challenges ahead. Please stay with us and keep your hearts open to our son’s ongoing fight for his health and well-being. Your support means the world to us.
Our Journey:

From the moment Kacperek was born, nothing went as we had imagined. We didn't have the chance to meet him, hold him, or even see him. Instead, our son was rushed straight to the intensive care unit. His condition was critical, and our world was turned upside down.
We were quickly transferred to the Children’s Health Center, where the fight for Kacperek’s life truly began. For the first 11 days, he fought in intensive care, facing severe respiratory failure, a skull fracture, and a subperiosteal hematoma. Our hearts broke as we watched him struggle, but we had no choice but to keep fighting, hoping against hope for a miracle.
Then, little by little, our son began to improve. He won his first battle for life, and we rejoiced in every small victory. But fate wasn’t finished testing us. We were hit with another devastating blow: the doctors suspected malignant tumors in both of Kacperek’s eyes.

Fortunately, after further testing, we received the incredible news that the diagnosis was incorrect. Yet, our relief was short-lived. That same day, we were told that Kacperek had significant retinal detachment and multiple vitreous hemorrhages in both eyes. The doctors explained that the most likely cause was a genetic disorder, one that could not be treated in Poland.
At that moment, we realized that Kacperek’s only hope lay in expensive surgery abroad. Doctors in Poland didn’t offer us any solutions. It was a crushing reality, but we didn’t give up.
Then, through the incredible generosity of so many of you, we were able to raise the funds needed to seek treatment outside of Poland. Kacperek underwent his surgery, and we are forever grateful for the opportunity to give him a chance at a better future.

Today, we are seeing some signs of progress. Kacperek is responding to light, which fills our hearts with hope. But the journey is far from over. We are still waiting for the results of genetic testing to determine exactly what Kacperek is facing. These tests will help us understand if our son has Norrie disease or another condition that may be affecting his vision.
As we anxiously await the results, we also look forward to our return trips to London for check-ups in January and March. These visits will help us understand the next steps in Kacperek’s treatment and recovery. We’ve taken the first and most crucial step, but there is still much to be done.
The Fight Continues:
Kacperek’s recovery requires ongoing rehabilitation, specialized support, frequent check-ups, and constant care. All of this comes at a high cost, and as much as we’ve achieved so far, we cannot afford to stop now. We cannot let everything we’ve worked for be in vain.
Please, we ask for your continued help. Your support is essential for Kacperek to continue his journey of healing. Every donation, every act of kindness, makes a tangible difference in his life. We are determined to fight for him and ensure that he has the best chance at a brighter future.
We are deeply grateful for all that you’ve done and continue to do for our son. Please stay with us as we navigate this challenging path. Your love and generosity give us the strength to keep going.
With all our hearts, thank you.
“More Than a Meal: Chick-fil-A Workers in East Ridge Show True Service with a Flat Tire Rescue”

For most of us, a trip through the drive-thru is a small part of the day—grab a meal, pay, move on. But sometimes, even in the most ordinary places, kindness reveals itself in extraordinary ways.
That’s exactly what happened at a Chick-fil-A in East Ridge, where a flat tire turned into a powerful reminder that service can go far beyond food.
It started like any other lunch stop. A customer pulled into the drive-thru, ordered, and inched forward in line. But before reaching the window, something went wrong—their tire had gone flat. With cars behind and food ahead, it could have easily turned into a stressful, embarrassing mess.
But instead of frustration, help arrived.

Without hesitation, Chick-fil-A employees rushed outside, not with trays of food this time, but with a hydraulic jack and the determination to get the customer back on the road. They could have shrugged and left the driver to call for roadside assistance. They could have apologized and gone back inside. Instead, they rolled up their sleeves and went to work.
In minutes, they had the car lifted and the tire swapped out, their teamwork as efficient as any pit crew. Other customers watched in awe as young men and women in polo shirts and aprons handled what most wouldn’t expect from fast-food staff.
But the story didn’t end there.

Once the repair was finished, employees brought the customer’s original meal out. Then, realizing it had cooled during the delay, they took it back, replaced it with a fresh, hot order, and added two cookies—free of charge.
The gesture wasn’t grand in scale. It didn’t cost much. But it spoke volumes about care, compassion, and a culture of service that sees people first and customers second.
“They’re truly doing the Lord’s work over there,” the grateful customer later wrote, still moved by the experience.
In a world where service is too often reduced to transactions, this small team of workers reminded everyone watching that real service is about people. It’s about noticing when someone is in need and stepping in without being asked.

For the employees, it may have felt like a natural extension of their day. But for the driver stranded in the drive-thru lane, it was the difference between frustration and relief, between a ruined lunch hour and a story worth telling.
And in truth, it was more than just a tire change. It was kindness made visible. It was proof that doing a job well can also mean doing good.
Stories like this resonate because they cut through the noise of everyday life. They remind us that compassion isn’t confined to big moments or official titles. It can show up at a restaurant, in a drive-thru, at the hands of people whose job description doesn’t include changing tires or handing out free cookies.
The Chick-fil-A staff at East Ridge didn’t just serve food that day. They served hope. They served humanity. They showed that when we choose to look beyond the ordinary, we can turn even a flat tire into a story of grace.
And for one customer, what began as a stressful setback ended with gratitude, a warm meal, and a heart lifted higher than any jack ever could.
Because sometimes, the best service doesn’t come with a receipt—it comes with kindness.
