Chris Garza Jr.: A Family's Fight for Their Little Boy's Life
There’s a face that many will remember — the face of a sweet, smiling 7-year-old boy full of life, energy, and excitement. Chris Garza Jr. was once a happy child, eager to run and play, to laugh and enjoy life’s simple pleasures. With a fresh haircut and a twinkle in his eye, he embodied the joy and innocence of childhood. But in an instant, everything changed.
A few weeks ago, Chris suffered his first-ever seizure — a terrifying, 20-minute ordeal that left his family helpless. It was a moment that no parent ever expects to face. After this harrowing episode, doctors discovered something even more devastating: Chris was diagnosed with Autoimmune Encephalitis, a rare and aggressive condition where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the brain. This diagnosis brought with it a flood of fears and questions — about his health, his future, and whether he would ever return to the vibrant, joyful boy he once was.

The reality of Chris’s condition has been nothing short of heartbreaking. His brain is swollen, and the swelling continues to threaten his ability to function. He is unable to eat or drink on his own, relying on a feeding tube to survive. Most of the time, he is sedated, his body resting while doctors fight to control the swelling and prevent further seizures. His parents, Breayana and Chris Sr., haven’t left his side, living day by day in the hospital, hoping and praying for their little boy to wake up, to speak, to smile, to return to them.
For any parent, it is the ultimate fear — to see your child lying in a hospital bed, helpless and struggling to survive. It is a pain that words cannot capture. Breayana and Chris Sr. are now living in a constant state of uncertainty, not knowing what the future holds but refusing to give up on their son. They have stopped working, focusing solely on being there for Chris every moment, supporting him through the toughest battle of his life.
In the face of this unimaginable hardship, the Garza family remains strong in their love and devotion to each other. Every moment is a struggle, but they hold onto the hope that their little boy will come back to them, that he will open his eyes again and bring back the joy that has been taken from him. They are not just fighting for Chris’s life; they are fighting for the little moments — the smiles, the words, the laughter — that they hope will return once he is well again.

In the midst of this battle, the Garza family needs all of us to stand with them. They need our prayers, our strength, and our love as they navigate this harrowing journey. They need the hope that comes from knowing that they are not alone. Every prayer lifted for Chris, for healing, for peace, and for strength will be a beacon of light in the darkness they are facing.
Please join us in praying for little Chris Garza Jr. and his family. Pray for healing over his body, for peace and comfort for his parents as they watch their son fight for his life, and for strength for every moment of this battle. Let’s lift them up, showing them that they are surrounded by a community of love and support.
In this time of uncertainty, let’s come together in faith, trusting that Chris will come back to his family, that he will open his eyes and smile once more. For now, all we can do is pray — and trust that with enough love, hope, and prayer, miracles can happen.
🙏 Please keep Chris in your prayers, and let’s stand strong for this brave little boy and his family.
A Second Chance: The Dog Who Taught a Family the True Meaning of Love

Two years ago, a single phone call changed the course of one family’s life—and the life of a dog who had all but given up on hope.
It was an ordinary day when a father called his son and daughter-in-law with urgent news: he was bringing home a dog who had been left behind in a backyard after his owners moved away. The dog’s name was Bronx. What awaited them when he arrived was nothing short of heartbreaking.
Bronx was barely recognizable as the strong, vibrant animal he was meant to be. His body was little more than skin stretched over fragile bones. His fur was matted and filthy, his body trembling from the cold. But perhaps most haunting of all were his eyes—wide, fearful, and full of a pain that went deeper than the physical. Every flinch at a human hand, every hesitant step forward told the story of abuse and neglect he had endured long before someone finally opened a door for him.

From that moment, his new family made a silent promise: Bronx would never again know what it meant to be unwanted.
The early days were not easy. Bronx needed round after round of vet visits, treatment for infections, and special care to gain back the strength he had lost. Training sessions required patience, love, and consistency, as he slowly learned that not all people were a threat. Every step forward, every tail wag, felt like a small miracle.
With time—and a great deal of love—Bronx began to transform. The weak, frightened dog who once cowered in corners grew into a lively, affectionate companion who loved attention and had a knack for stealing hearts wherever he went. His family affectionately nicknamed him the “ladies’ man” for the way he charmed every woman he met.
“He’s truly the light of our lives,” his caregiver said. “I couldn’t imagine a better companion. To see him now, you’d never believe the condition he was once in.”
But even with love and healing, some scars cannot be erased. The years of neglect had left their mark on Bronx’s body. Now, at the age of seven, he suffers from serious hip issues that have made walking painful. His left hip, in particular, has deteriorated to the point where surgery is the only long-term solution.
For now, Bronx’s family is managing his pain with medication, ensuring he remains as comfortable as possible. But every day, they are reminded that his condition will only worsen without intervention. The cost of surgery is daunting, yet they remain unwavering in their commitment to do whatever it takes to give Bronx the life he deserves.

“It breaks my heart to see him struggle after everything he’s already overcome,” his caregiver shared. “But I promised him from the start that I would never let him suffer again. And I intend to keep that promise.”
Bronx’s story is not just about one dog—it is about the resilience of animals, the cruelty they too often endure, and the incredible healing power of love when someone chooses to care. It is also a reminder of the countless dogs who remain in shelters and abandoned backyards, waiting for a second chance like Bronx received.
Every animal has a story. Bronx’s is one of survival, transformation, and hope. And while his journey is not over, he has already taught those who love him what it truly means to give—and to receive—unconditional love.
Because sometimes, saving a dog is not just about rescuing them from their past. Sometimes, it’s about giving them a future worth living.
